STANDING STRONG AMIDST
Flags lined the streets as Patti and her family drove to the cemetery. The local shop owners emerged from their offices to watch as they passed by. Children stood on the front lawn, their little hands clinging to the flag their teachers had given them. They were safe. They were going to have a normal day.
But Patti wasn't. Patti was going to bury her son.
In a heartwarming true story of perseverance and confidence in the Lord, author Patti McLead discusses the tragedies in her life and the overwhelming emotions of losing a son in the military. Life had already dealt her a bad hand - losing both parents to violent deaths and losing a brother to drugs. One person should not be given so many burdens to bear, but life kept going, and so did she.
Through faith in Jesus Christ and through the love and care of His people Patti survived one tragedy after another, eventually surviving the death of her son.
If you are suffering from an unbearable loss , let Patti's determination and optimism inspire you to heal. God is with His children always and is here to help you find the peace and comfort you so desire. Let Tattered Not Torn guide you to a closer relationship with God and the healing He wants you to find.
WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING:
Since moving to the DC area, my 2.5 year old son and I frequently visit Walter Reed's Wounded Warrior Center where I have met some awesome men and women. I was up there the other day with my little guy (who loves going to see his friends with wheels) and one of the wives I was talking with couldn't say enough about your book and how much it has helped her in their healing process. Her husband lost both legs and 1 arm about 8 months ago and will be at Walter Reed for at least 6 more months for daily care. Just wanted to pass along to you that your story is making a difference! Thank you, again, for sharing it!Valerie Poggio "The book was a can't put it down type of book."G. Rangel "I keep meaning to tell you that I purchased your book for my Kindle last week and read the whole thing that day. I couldn't put it down. I was very touched by all that you poured into it. Thank you for your open and honest words. I have encouraged others in our church to purchase it and read it as well"Kevin Skinner, Children's Pastor, FBC Watauga

Message from the Author:
When one has a life that has many heart-breaking experiences, sharing them could easily become a story about the heart-break experiences. God has led me to tell my story a bit differently. For as it says in Psalm 147:3, “The Lord heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” So my story is my testimony of how the Lord has and continues to heal and bind me up. For me, the going through the trials and coming out in victory on the other side is what we are to share. That way it will make a difference and help someone else along their journey. A friend told me it’s like this: “Tell the stories of your life; it is God’s way of putting a human face on every day grace.” Tattered Not Torn is my story with God’s grace all over it.
